Your journal stays on this device
Recorded coordinates, timestamps, altitude, imported routes, selected photos, captions, story settings and privacy zones are stored in the app’s local journal. They remain until you delete them. Signing in does not create a cloud backup. Device backups may contain app data according to your Apple settings.
Apple Health
With your permission, Pathluma reads workouts and workout routes to create activity stories. It does not read heart rate, write workouts, sell Health data or use it for advertising. Imports occur when you choose Import. Revoke access in Health at any time. Imported copies remain until deleted in Pathluma; the original Health records remain under your control.
Account & purchases
Firebase Authentication processes your email, display name and credentials to manage sign-in. Session credentials are stored in the iPhone Keychain. This preview uses the AppGen2020 Firebase project, shared with other apps. Apple processes subscription payments; Pathluma receives purchase entitlement information, not your payment card details. A hashed account identifier and trial dates are retained on this device to prevent repeated welcome trials; a monthly export count is also retained locally.
Maps, photos & sharing
Apple Maps supplies map imagery and processes map requests under Apple’s privacy policy. Photos you select are copied into the journal. Exports and the iOS share sheet send content only when you choose a destination. Recipients and social platforms may retain copies. Privacy zones remove protected route sections and associated photo moments from new exports and uploads; they cannot recall earlier shares.
Optional server uploads
If a separately configured community server is connected, choosing Upload sends the filtered route, activity title, sport and source identifier to that server. Its account is separate from Firebase. Delete that account using the separate community account control while connected. This preview does not automatically upload your journal or offer cloud storage.
Your controls & deletion
Use Data & account controls to delete your login or local journal. Deleting the login removes the shared Firebase identity; you may also erase this device’s journal. Exported copies in Photos, Files, backups or social apps must be deleted there. Removing Health permission does not erase already imported copies. Apple subscription cancellation is separate from account deletion. Contact the operator for requests concerning data held outside this device.
